Show the math

Money inputs accept at most two decimal places. Percentage inputs accept at most six. Percentage amounts round to the nearest cent, ties upward; allocations use exact integer cents.

What this means

The deposit is removed first. Any cent remainder in an equal split goes to the earliest later payments.

Worked example

$1,000 with a 25% deposit leaves $750, paid as three $250 payments. A $100 total, $33.33 deposit and three later payments gives $22.23, $22.22 and $22.22.

How the math works

Remaining cents = total cents − deposit cents. Each later payment gets floor(remaining/count) cents; the first remainder payments each get one extra cent.

About this estimate

Currency is USD. Monetary inputs need at most two decimal places; percentages need at most six. No dates, interest, tax or payment activity. Agreements and applicable law determine permissible deposits and terms.
